Team HART

Team HART

Next to my bachelor study I have been a member of student team HART. At team HART we are working on developing a sleeve which can translate language into haptic patterns. HART is mostly research oriented and the prototype we are developing is aimed at creating new knowledge about human augmentation: creating new senses for everyone.

As part of this team I have mainly been working on designing the new sleeve. This allowed me to learn about wearable design, as I taught myself how to use a sewing machine. I combined soft materials with 3D printed objects to create a truly unique design. Next to this, being part of this team allowed me to experience what it is like to be part of a professional multidisciplinary team. The special team structure of team HART: which does not have an executive board, providing a flat team structure. This made me a more assertive, and conscious person as we continuously reflected upon our work within the team.

Next year I will still be part of team HART, as we will start with a large user research to validate the learnability of the vibrational language. I anticipate to work on writing the paper as well as conducting interviews.
